SAI 1035 Bubble Film Solution

The formula the system is built around. A unique-formula soap solution engineered specifically for helium bubble generators — not a general-purpose bubble solution.

What it does

SAI 1035 produces large quantities of small, uniform bubbles with a film wall roughly one micron thick — thin enough that a bubble carries only as much helium as it needs to become neutrally buoyant, and strong enough to survive one to two minutes in the flow.

That combination is the whole difficulty. A thicker film holds together longer but needs more helium and ends up buoyant. A thinner one is neutrally buoyant but doesn’t survive the trip. A specialized plasticizer is what holds the balance.

It is the solution the Model 5 Console is designed and calibrated around.

Why it's formulated this way

Precision streamline tracing — neutrally buoyant bubbles lock onto airstreams with more precision than smoke, yarn tufts, or vapor.

Extended bubble life — a specialized plasticizer keeps bubbles intact for 1–2 minutes or longer, long enough to trace slow-developing flow patterns in full.

High-volume output — sustains 300–400 bubbles per second, per output, on the Model 5 Console.

Non-toxic and safe to run — water- and glycerin-based and non-toxic. Not classified as a flammable liquid. Comfortable to operate in labs, cleanrooms and shared workspaces.

Effortless cleanup — residue wipes away with a damp microfiber cloth; excess flushes with cold water. No special handling equipment.

Dependable shelf life — one year at room temperature.

Questions

No. The bubble wall is roughly one micron thick — far too thin to carry pigment.

No damage occurs. Any visible trace on models or surfaces wipes clean with a damp microfiber cloth.

Yes. Excess solution trapped in the Mini-Vortex Filter is reusable.

Flush down a drain with cold water.

The console is calibrated around SAI 1035 and its film thickness. Other solutions will change bubble wall thickness and buoyancy, which is what the whole method depends on.
